Binance CEO Richard Teng has expressed confidence that bitcoin will achieve a new all-time high in 2025, citing significant regulatory changes in the United States under President Donald Trump’s leadership. Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Teng emphasized the transformative potential of the evolving crypto regulatory environment.
“If you examine past cycles, this year marks a turning point where the crypto industry is poised for a new all-time high,” Teng stated during a fireside chat hosted by CNBC.
Teng credited recent U.S. government initiatives as pivotal in fostering a more crypto-friendly climate. Among these is President Trump’s executive order, Strengthening American Leadership in Digital Financial Technology, which advocates for innovation in digital finance, supports dollar-backed stablecoins, and firmly opposes a central bank digital currency (CBDC).
Additional regulatory shifts include the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) formation of a cryptocurrency task force to provide clearer regulatory guidelines and the appointment of crypto-friendly Mark T. Uyeda as acting SEC chair. Similarly, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has introduced new leadership aimed at improving oversight of crypto assets, reflecting the administration’s commitment to integrating digital assets into the broader financial system.
“These reforms could provide the clarity and recognition the industry has long needed, creating the foundation for sustainable growth,” Teng explained. He also noted a marked shift in the stance of U.S. lawmakers, with pro-crypto sentiment gaining traction in both the House and Senate.
